Portraits of Imaginary Friends and Other Impulses

As a child my ideal of beauty wasn’t some movie star or Disney princess; it was my cousin Annelies. She had sleeping beauties dark hair and red lips and perfect china doll skin. Her hair was smooth and perfect and her voice like a little bell. Being reminded of her beauty by a photo of her daughter, who looks just like her, I painted her from childhood memories to the best of my ability. I should add to this day she is still stunning in her beauty.
