I had a good friend who’s mother suffers from Liver Cancer and its been a huge painful struggle for both of them. She is allowing their trials to inspire her to help fight against liver cancer on a larger scale.
She is planning and hosting a fundraiser where artist through out the area donate a night stand that they have painted creatively as a one of a kind work of art. The nightstand will be auctioned off one at a time at Temecula Civic Center, on Oct. 27 from 9-3pm. She is also still accepting artists who would like to donate their talents by painting a nightstand.
I will have at least one nightstand for auction at this event. For more info contact Amber at 951-805-0944.
Not only did the reception at Earth Bistro bring many old and new friends together to enjoy some great food and company, but it also got me in touch with a few friends from the past. My artwork was spotted by dear friends of mine who I lived next door to for a year, 14 years ago as well as someone I went to High School with in Garden Grove decades back. That is three friendships renewed from the opportunity of showing my work at Earth Bistro. Sometimes there are gifts even better than selling art that we can get from showing. Get your work out there, be seen. There is no show to small that it might not change someone’s life, and that life could very easily be your own. Thank you Tony from Bigfoot Art Classes and Earth Bistro for making this show happen!
This afternoon Earth Bistro and BigFoot Graphics will be hosting an art show for my impressionistic modern paintings at Earth Bistro. This show features my lesser seen modern works in the entry area.
Earth Bistro is a wonderful place to grab a healthy dinner with fresh local ingredients. They are very food sensitive aware and have no nuts on the premises and also have a very large selection of gluten free or vegan meals.
Monday late afternoon 4-6. Earth Bistro on Winchester in Temecula.
Lovely day at the Festival. My spirits are up and I am ready to sell
This Weekend is the Catalina Arts Festival, the longest running event on Catalina Island. I am excited to visit fellow artists, Snake Jagger, Carlos Martinez, and the man I consider a mentor who inspires me always, Danny Peterson.
The show will be three days from Friday-Sunday and a lot of work, but I can’t imagine a more lovely place to work than on the beautiful shoreline of Catalina Island. I will be hoping to see my good friend Anna more than once, and enjoy the worlds bests waffles and fried chicken while I am there. My friend Rachel has graciously offered to help me as there is no way I could carry the 40 or so paintings over there myself.
Following the full weekend I will have a reception in Temecula on Monday the 23rd from 4-6 at Earth Bistro, where my abstract art is now on display!
Thank you to both Catalina and Earth Bistro for having me, and to Tony Moramarco who curates the Earth Bistro shows.
I often will work on color wash abstracts when I am not particularly inspired to paint something specific. It gets me painting, and it is so relaxing and often enough they turn out so lovely that they become back grounds for other paintings. Sometimes I love them so much they become the finished work. This week I have been working backwards. I am doing the washes on top of the under paintings instead of using the washes as my underpainting. The result is some stormy, expressionistic Catalina Island abstract Landscapes.
Frames 4×6 watercolors, ready to pack for the Catalina Arts Festival.
